It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Arthur John Eric Birch, who died peacefully in Olds, Alberta on Friday, March 27, 2026 at the age of 80 years surrounded by his wife and children.

Art was born on May 8, 1945, in Nelson, BC. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather & great grandfather. Art spent over 40 years working in the insurance and investment field. He was a proud sponsor of local sports teams and a member of community organizations.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda; his children, Tracey, Julie (Mike) and Kevin (Melissa); and his cherished grandchildren, Lauren, Kael, Rhett, Reegan, Avery, Dermot, Sieanna and Kaleb as well as 2 Great granddaughters Riley & Ronnie. He is also remembered fondly by his extended family and many dear friends.

Art had a love for riding his Harley, working away in his Garage on his classic cars, listening to his 8 tracks, and watching his grandkids play sports. He was known for his generous spirit, sense of community and willingness to converse with anyone about politics and current events.

A Celebration of Life Open House will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #105, 5241 – 46 Street, Olds, Alberta on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Canadian Diabetes Association.

Art will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
