It is with heavy hearts that the family of Norman Harold Chadsey of Innisfail, Alberta, announces his peaceful passing at home on Sunday, August 17, 2025, at the age of 81 years. Norman was born on January 14, 1944. He lived a full and meaningful life full of great conversations, thirst for knowledge and laughter. Norman was active in the community, and he will be remembered for his steady presence, gentle humor, and the deep care he showed for those around him. He is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife, Patricia Chadsey, with whom he shared many cherished years. Norman was a proud father to Tracy (Alan) Pakarinen, Jennifer (Jeremy) Dawe, and Jeremy (Bri) Chadsey. He had great joy in being a grandfather to Mallory (Steve), Isobel, June, and Max, each of whom brought light to his life. Norman is also deeply missed by his twin sister, Nancy, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family, all of whom will remember him for his kindness, humility, and wisdom. He was predeceased by his sister, Ruth, his brother, Roy (Winnie), his son, Trenton and his grandson, Jesse, who he all held close in memory and heart. Norman’s presence was a steady comfort to those around him, and his absence leaves a profound void. His family takes comfort in the love he gave so freely, and the legacy of wisdom and strength that he leaves behind. A Celebration of Life will be held in his honor next summer in Chilliwack, British Columbia. In remembering Norman, we are reminded of the words of the Buddha: “Everything that has a beginning has an ending. Make your peace with that and all will be well.” He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you hold your loved ones a little closer and take a quiet moment to remember Norman over a good glass of scotch.
