TODERAN, Gareld Thompson

1944 – 2026

Gerald Thompson Toderan of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the age of 81 years. Gerald was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, on Saturday, September 9, 1944. He was raised on the Homestead in Fairy Hills and later resided in Regina to complete high school where he graduated from Scott Collegiate Institute. Gerald met Sharon (nee Zaharik) in 1960 and married on December 29, 1962. They began raising their two children in Regina, and were soon to move for Gerald’s work, taking them to Calgary, Alberta, Grand Prairie, Alberta, and then to Red Deer, Alberta. They did relocate back to Regina for some time but eventually retired in Red Deer after Gerald’s employment with EECOL ELECTRIC for 45 years (1962-2007). Gerald’s greatest love were family gatherings, gardening and camping. He often would reflect fondly on his memories of fishing trips with friends and growing up in the valley, sharing laughs of mischief he and his cousins could get into. Gerald will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his son, Richard Toderan of Red Deer; his daughter, Carol (Blair) Kambeitz of Red Deer; his son, Gerry (Melanie) Delorme of Assiniboia, Saskatchewan; his many grandchildren, Jared, Baylee, Morgan, and Justin; and his nieces and nephew, Sheri, Tracy, and Mike (Ann). Gerald as predeceased by beloved wife, Sharon (nee Zaharik) Toderan of 57 years; his parents, Zed and Eva (nee Thompson) Toderan; father and mother-in-law, Stephan and Madeline Zaharik; his brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Denise Smith; and his grandson, Garrett Delorme.
