It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Fern Florence Beierle, who left us on April 4, 2025, at the age of 81 years. Fern was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and a cherished friend to many.
Fern is survived by Roxane Ebbesen, son in law Brian; granddaughter Sierra; daughter in law Tina and granddaughters Megan Mc Peak, husband Cam, great grand daughter Maeve; granddaughter Rheanne (Alex Watt); twin sister Fran Throndson, sister Sandra Berg.
She is predeceased by her husband Ken Beierle; son Darcy Beierle, brother Murray Dewald.
Fern was born in Wetaskiwin, AB, where she spent her childhood growing up on the family dairy farm and attending school. After graduating she resumed her education by attending Mactavish Business School in Edmonton. That lead to a job at the Scotia Bank. After she married Ken, they started a family. First was a son Darcy and then a daughter Roxane. Once the kids got older, Fern, Ken and Darcy started a very successful refrigeration company, where Fern was doing the bookkeeping. After several years, they decided to retire, and return to the farm in Olds, grain farming with Brian and Roxane. Fern’s warmth and kindness was felt by everybody that knew her. She had a special love for spending time with her family, often gathering around for a witted game of cards. She always be found playing a competitive game of Scrabble or Canasta.
Though Fern is no longer with us, her legacy of love, fun, and a good sarcastic comment will continue to live on in the hearts. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025, at the Heartland Funeral Services Chapel, 5226 – 46 Street, OIds, Alberta, at 1:00 p.m.”
