Sadly, we have lost Cathy Michalenko to the Corona Virus. She passed away peacefully at her home at Michener Extendicare on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the age of 76 years. She leaves to mourn her daughters, Larissa (John) of Vancouver, Lori (Kim Dorland ) and grandsons, Seymour and Tommy of Toronto. Also, brother, Greg Michalenko (Carroll) of Waterloo, Ontario. Cathy dedicated her life to the nursing profession. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan, University of Calgary and Mount Royal College in Calgary. She was a nursing instructor at the Red Deer College for many years. At a later date, as per Cathy’s wish, she will be laid to rest alongside her parents in the Ukrainian Orthodox Churchyard in Fedorah, Alberta, north of Edmonton. Cathy’s request was for any expressions of sympathy to be directed to the Canadian Nurses Foundation or the Red Deer College Foundation.
