Sharon Anne Butler of Red Deer, Alberta passed away peacefully on February 11, 2023 after her second courageous battle with cancer at the age of 79. Sharon was born in Halifax, NS on August 1, 1943. Her family moved to Ontario a few years later where she met Dave. They married in 1965 and had three children. The family packed up and moved to Sherwood Park, AB in 1974 and then in 1982 they moved to Forestburg, AB. Sharon and Dave resided there until Dave’s passing which led Sharon to move to Red Deer, AB to be closer to her children. Sharon’s greatest passion was her four grandchildren that she bragged about constantly. Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her children, Christine (Ralph) Griffin, Mark (Rebecca) Butler and Mike Butler, as well as by her grandchildren, Garry (Nicole) and Paul Griffin, Sydney and Hailey Butler, and by her siblings, Rod (Cathy) Davidson, Judy Beaumier, Heather Davidson and Don Thurston. Sharon was predeceased by her husband, Dave, and her brother-in-law, John Beaumier. Upon Sharon’s request, there will be a private cremation with no funeral service, but instead a Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date. If desired, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Sharon’s honor may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca and at rdrhfoundation.com.
