Mr. Thomas Edward Holden passed away at Extendicare Michener Hill, Red Deer, Alberta on Monday, June 19, 2023 at the age of 79 years. Thomas, better known as ‘Ted’, was born on September 12, 1943, to parents, Thomas and Marguerite Holden. His father’s family wanted to call him Tommy, his mother’s family wanted to call him Eddy, so his father said to call him Ted, and that’s what he was known as for most of his life. Ted was a very kind man who lived a life that was quiet and unassuming. He was severely injured in an accident, in 1964, that left lifelong impacts on him. Ted graduated from an Active Electronic Circuitry Course at NAIT, in 1976. This was a real accomplishment, as he was color blind, and all the circuits were color coded. Ted was so happy when he married Juanita, in 2004. Unfortunately, she passed away a few years later, due to her health complications. After her passing, Ted continued to live in Red Deer, where he had some very close family and friends. His health failed when he suffered from a stroke in October 2022. Ted moved into Michener Extendicare from the hospital, where, in typical fashion, he frequently commented on how kind everyone was. Ted will be lovingly remembered by his sister, Joanne and her husband, David MacDonald and family, Jennifer, Jade and Joshua Swain, Martin, Conner, Tavia and her son, Everest, and Heather Swain. Ted was predeceased by his wife, Juanita, his parents, Tom and Marguerite Holden, his nephew, Daniel Swain, and his great nephew, Shony Swain.
