Mr. Gary Thomas Marr of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Edmonton, Alberta on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at the age of 81 years. Gary was born and raised in the Cereal, Alberta area and joined the Canadian Forces in 1963. He served many deployments in Canada and abroad, reaching the rank of Master Warrant Officer, before retiring in 1995. While serving in Baden-Baden, Germany, Gary met the love of his life, Donna-Gail (nee Neufeld) beginning a whirlwind romance that continued until Gail’s passing in 2021. Gary will be lovingly remembered by his brothers, Brent (Denise) of Lacombe, Alberta, and Lynn (Diane) of Mayerthorpe, Alberta; his sister, Gail (Emile) Blokland of High River, Alberta and his sisters-in-law, Wendy Marr of Medicine Hat, Alberta, and Linda Avery of Yuma, Arizona; as well as other extended family and friends. Gary was predeceased by his wife, Donna-Gail and his brothers, Jim and Ken. If desired, Memorial Donations in Gary’s honor may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca.
