1943 ~ Kenneth Lorne Bauman ~ 2026 "During those years, Ken and Terry moved around from Red Deer, Sherwood Park and down to Airdrie before settling back on Olds. Ken’s loves and hobbies included his family, RCMP dogs, Hockey, NASCAR racing, his coin collection, playing crib, refinishing antique furniture, garage sales, keeping his vehicles spotless, Frosties from Wendy’s, hating on the Oilers (sorry, but he was true Flames fan!) and Neapolitan ice cream!"

Kenneth Lorne Bauman
February 21, 1943 – February 5, 2026
Born in Vancouver BC
Married Terry (Wenger) Bauman October 16, 1963
Ken attended his school years in Olds. He worked at the olds creamery when he was a teenager, this is where a young girl of the name Terry Wenger caught his eye. As a young man he worked at the Olds post office before he and Terry married in 1963. Their first child Brenda (Bauman) Mullis was born in 1965 and two years later their son Michael Bauman in 1967.
From there they moved to Golden BC for 8 fun years full of memories and lifelong friendships. When Ken took the position of Driver Examiner, the family moved back to Olds. This would be a role that would make him well-known throughout the community — because, yes, he probably is “the guy who failed you”. Ken excelled in his Public Transportation & Safety career, which eventually took him to Edmonton where he served as Provincial Evaluator.
During those years, Ken and Terry moved around from Red Deer, Sherwood Park and down to Airdrie before settling back on Olds. Ken’s loves and hobbies included his family, RCMP dogs, Hockey, NASCAR racing, his coin collection, playing crib, refinishing antique furniture, garage sales, keeping his vehicles spotless, Frosties from Wendy’s, hating on the Oilers (sorry, but he was true Flames fan!) and Neapolitan ice cream!
He was predeceased by the love of his life Terry in 2018; his father Lorne Bauman, mother Martha (Maetche) Ross; his mother and father-in-law’s, Elsie and Cliff Wenger.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Brenda Mullis (Brent Herzog), son Michael Bauman (Stacey Yoos); Grandchildren Colby (Mullis) Gross (Lee Gross), Cliff Mullis, Marina (Bauman) DeFehr (Cole DeFehr), Emma Bauman (Conner Lothian), Korbin Fox & Keira Fox (Wyatt Thengs); and great grandson August John Gross. We love you and miss you already.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the RCMP Police Dog Service Training Centre in Innisfail, a cause close to Ken’s heart.
