Edith Edwards passed away in the Three Hills hospital after a brief admittance and courageous battle with numerous health ailments. A gentle lady who would share her faith through actions, words, and example in whatever she laid hand to. One never left Edith without a feeling of acceptance and love. Her gift of serving others was evident throughout her life as she worked in hospitals, school systems with special needs students, seniors, handicapped adults and gave many volunteer hours in her church groups with children, youth, and adult ministries alike. The patience and ability to ensure those she was with were never rushed ensured this grandma of seven, sister, friend, aunt, mother, wife, and great grandmother will leave cherished memories. Married for 45 years to the love of her life, George Edwards, Edith was often seen taking long strolls down the town paths and hosting weekly Bible studies with dear friends for many years. Born in Hardisty, Alberta to farmers Bill and Josephine Therou, Edith and her twin (Evelyn Haring) were the youngest of three daughters (Hazel Schnell). Moving to the town of Sedgewick and then to Edmonton in junior high, those blond haired, blue eyed twins advanced to larger schools and bigger opportunities. Attending Canadian Nazarene College in Winnipeg, Edith met George and was married July 17, 1965. Supporting her husband as he worked in the post office for years, Edith raised their three daughters with an unwavering love, example of intuitive ministry, and steadfast desire to ensure each followed Jesus in their own personal walk of faith. Moving as a family from Edmonton to Ponoka to Hanna to Coronation, and finally arriving in Three Hills where their children could attend Prairie High School, Edith worked and ministered wherever opportunity arrived. Edith will be lovingly missed by her daughters- Rose Brower-Young (Brad), Valerie Hamm (Dean), Sylvia Kirk (Roger); grandchildren- Rae Lee Brower-Herbert (Mark), Breanna Ould (Caleb), Brock Brower, Austin Kirk (Christina), Kaelynn Hamm (Daniel Huellstrung), Levi Kirk, Josephine Kirk, sister Evelyn Haring (Nolan), sister in law-Lorraine Gilkes (Darrell), brother in law- Dave Edwards (Mary), brother in law-Norman Schnell, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
