Claudia Sybil Hackman passed away peacefully in Red Deer, Alberta, on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at the age of 82 years. Born and raised in Innisfail, Alberta, Claudia later settled in Red Deer, Alberta after marrying the love of her life, Edward Hackman, on April 25, 1961, at Red Deer United Church. Together they built a loving home filled with kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to their family. Claudia dedicated many years of service to the community through her work at the Red Deer Hospital before continuing her career as a secretary with the Government of Alberta. She was admired for her dependability, quiet strength, and caring nature. Family was at the heart of everything Claudia did. She cherished every opportunity to gather with loved ones and friends around the table, where afternoons were often spent enjoying spirited board and card games, plenty of laughter, and, of course, delicious homemade desserts. She also found great joy in walking her beloved dogs, finding comfort and peace in the simple beauty of nature. Those who knew Claudia will remember her for her warm smile, gentle heart, and welcoming spirit. She had a remarkable way of making everyone feel at home and loved. Her kindness, patience, and selfless nature touched countless lives and created memories that will be treasured forever. Claudia leaves to mourn her passing her children, Rick Hackman of Hamilton, Ontario, Robert Hackman of Central Alberta, Rozanne Haugen of Didsbury, Alberta along with her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immeasurable joy to her life. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Edna Grabill of Red Deer, Alberta and Verna Sanders of Brooks, Alberta as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. Claudia was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward Hackman, her beloved daughter, Tammy Hackman, and her sister, Melva Luberg. While her family grieves the loss of a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, they take comfort in the many treasured memories she leaves behind. Her legacy of love, generosity, compassion, and quiet strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. A Celebration of Claudia’s Life will be held at Parkland Funeral Home, 6287 – 67A Street (Taylor Drive) Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, July 25, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
