GRANT, Katherine
1942 – 2025
It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of Mrs. Katherine ‘Kathy’ Margaret Grant at the Red Deer Hospice on Friday, February 28, 2025 at the age of 82 years. Katherine was born October 4, 1942, in Lethbridge, Alberta, where she lived most of her life, until moving to Calgary. She married James Grant on August 5, 1961. They moved to Red Deer, Alberta to raise their three sons, James, David and Kelly. Kathy, as many called her, worked at the Parsons Clinic, where she made many friends that became like family. She loved to travel, visiting places like Alaska, Hawaii, Greece and Jamaica. When Kathy wasn’t travelling, she enjoyed many summers camping with her friends and family. Kathy was the happiest surrounded by her loved ones. She had the brightest smile, one that would light up a room, and a laugh that was contagious. She had a great love for animals and was often seen with the company of a little friend. Kathy brought so much joy and love to everyone she met. Kathy will be lovingly remembered by her husband, James; her three sons, James Grant (Twyla), David Grant, and Kelly Grant (Tori); her eight grandchildren, Taylor (Breannon), Brittney, Connor, Grayson, Kalum, Kim and Doug (Jaycee); and her three great grandchildren, Maddison, Lyndee and Kade. Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Margaret Moodie; her brothers, Ron and Dennis Moodie; and her grandson, Keith.
