KRAMER, Theodore
1942 – 2025
It is with broken hearts, the family of Mr. Theodore ‘Ted’ Allan Kramer announce his passing at the Red Deer Hospice on Friday, April 18, 2025 at the age of 82 years. Ted passed peacefully with his loving wife and daughter by his side. Ted was born September 2, 1942, in Wetaskiwin, Alberta, the sixth child and youngest son of August and Marie (nee Badry) Kramer. Ted ‘Teddy’ was raised in Bluffton and the Crestomere area on the family farm. He met the love of his life, Eileen, and they were married on November 9, 1963, in Ponoka, Alberta. They were blessed with two children. Ted’s work years began by driving truck, hauling gravel in the paving of Hwy 2 and Hwy 53 west of Ponoka, and also hauling freight within Alberta. Ted apprenticed as an Automotive Technician, with Badry Sales and Service in Ponoka, later working at ALCAN Aluminum Smelter in Kitimat, British Columbia. Moving the family back to Alberta, he opened his first business in Camrose, Kramer Automotive Repair, working on many gravel trucks for the local truck drivers and other automotive and heavy-duty customers. Ted was very hard working, and his customers always came first. After selling Kramer Automotive, he purchased Camrose Diesel Injection in 1986, servicing and repairing diesel fuel injection systems. This new career path required a lot of ongoing education which took him to Ontario, California, and Illinois usually traveling in his motorhome with Eileen by his side. In 1994, Ted purchased Kolton Injection Service in Red Deer. Ted was a worker and if you came to visit you would always find him in the shop finishing a customer job or cleaning up. He did enjoy some relaxation activities over the years like camping, boating, golfing, bowling and downhill skiing. Ted’s love for his family was very evident, especially his grandchildren, and he was very proud of their accomplishments. Ted had a huge heart and was always there to help anyone in need. For many years, Ted and Eileen enjoyed traveling to Arizona for part of the winter to visit with his sister, Donna and family. After he sold both Diesel Injection businesses, he started RV transport to and from the USA, which took him all over Canada. Ted got off the road and retired at 80 years of age. Ted will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife of sixty-one years, Eileen; his children, Lori Murray and Darrell Kramer; and his grandchildren, Brenden Murray, Jasmine Murray, Kallie (Aaron) Miettinen. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters, Donna Wattie, and Patricia Kramer; as well as aunts, uncles, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ted was predeceased by his father, August Kramer, his mother Marie (Badry) McBeth, his brothers, Edward, Keith, and Ronald, his sister, Connie Shanks, and his son-in-law, Arthur Keeler. Ted’s family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the Red Deer Hospice for the wonderful care he received. A Private Family Gathering will be held at a later date. If desired, Memorial Donations in Ted’s honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society at www.reddeerhospice.com or to a charity of donor’s choice.
