Mr. David Hueppelsheuser passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital with his loving family by his side on October 8, 2024 at the age of 82 years. David was born on April 1, 1942 and was raised on the family farm west of Blackfalds where he resided his entire life.
In 1962, he met the love of his life, Judy Malcolm. They soon married and shared over sixty years together. In 1964 they welcomed their son, Dana, and a few years later, daughters Kris and Jill, completed the family. David and Judy were very busy farming, raising their family, and volunteering in the community. David was active in the Barley Growers and Canola Growers Associations, the Westerner Exposition, 4-H, Rotary, and the Red Deer College Foundation.
David believed in work hard, play harder. He spent the early years running pony chuckwagons. He retired his wagon but continued his love of horses. He took up cutting and then moved to cattle penning and sorting. His horsing around lead to many lifelong friends both in Alberta and Arizona.
In 1992 Dave was able to convert the grain operation into a PMU barn, combining his love of farming and love of horses. His son Dana and daughter in law Cheryl took over the farm so David could fully retire. David and Judy were able to spend more time as snowbirds after the transition.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Judy, his sister, Gail (Lloyd) Cupid-Preston, and brother Laurie (Iris). His children, Dana (Cheryl), his daughters Kris (Norman) Standish, and Jill (Ken) Wagers will forever share stories of their dad’s adventures. He will be missed by his grand and great grandchildren, Kolton, Tyson (Brooke) Margret and Maeva, Tanner, Mathew, Evan, Rashelle (Kody), Katrina, and Shannon (Carter). He will be remembered also by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. David was predeceased by his parents, Glen and Bertha Hueppelsheuser and his brother-in-law Canute Cupid.
