1942 ~ Lorne Barraclough ~ 2025 "Lorne could be found camping, hiking, fishing, golfing, gardening, or working beside his second family at the Olds Auction Mart."

Born October 14, 1942, to parents Walter Cyril Barraclough and Francis Ada Knupp, in Calgary, Alberta. Lorne grew up in Calgary where he went to school, started a career and met his wife of 54 years, Bonnie Darlene Harrison. In the early 1970’s, Lorne and his young family moved to Edmonton to start a new chapter, working along side his brother Doug. That was followed with a move in 1980 to Olds, Alberta where he and his family settled down for good.
Lorne loved being around family and friends, with both parents being from Calgary and area there were numerous cousins or close friends he would spend his time with, exploring and going on adventures from a young age. When he met Bonnie in 1966 he started a family of his own and was thankful to be close with his four grandchildren Cole, Reese, Tara-Jane and Carter. Lorne could be found camping, hiking, fishing, golfing, gardening, or working beside his second family at the Olds Auction Mart. In retirement Lorne, right up until his last days, would often stop by the Legion for one more beer with his close group of friends. His family would like to extend their gratitude everyone that lent him a hand from time to time. He’s survived by his children Scott (Heidi), Greg of Calgary and brother Brent (Dave) of Vancouver.
In keeping with Lorne’s wishes, no formal service will be held. In lieu of flowers, you are invited to donate to a charity of your choice.
