On Monday, January 25, 2021 at the age of 78 years, Arlene St. Dennis peacefully passed in her home in Sundre, surrounded by family. Arlene will be remembered for her resourcefulness, crazy quirks, loving soul, and dedication to her family and dear friends. In her earlier days, Arlene enjoyed camping, playing baseball, golfing, and of course, bingo. Arlene and Fred were both very involved with the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #238 in Bowness where they enjoyed shuffleboard, darts, cribbage, and catering for the Lions Club and Ladies Auxiliary. She had a passion for cooking and in her free time loved to do crossword puzzles, read mystery books, watch game shows and soaps. Her memory will live on through the family and friends she held close to her heart. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Moose and Squirrel Medical Clinic for ensuring her wishes were met and for the phenomenal care they provided, Sundre Family Pharmacy for their warmth and exceptional service including delivery, Home care for their extraordinary aid, and Sundre IGA for always delivering her groceries. Arlene is survived by her two sons, Darrel St. Dennis and Bert (Monica) St. Dennis; five grandchildren Alida (Neal) Taylor, Tierra (Travis) Peterson, Jessica St. Dennis, Courtney St. Dennis, and Keyanna St. Dennis; five great-grandchildren Grady and Sophia, Taylor and Falyn, Taryn and Tristyn Peterson; siblings Bob (Judy) McKinnon, Rhonda Cooper (Guy Fortier), Debbie Hook, Keelow McKinnon; sisters-in-law Lynn McKinnon and Urstla Klassen; brother-in-law Dave Enns; cousins, nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and nieces. Arlene was predeceased by her devoted husband of 53 years, Fred St. Dennis; her parents Maurice and Doris McKinnon; father and mother in-law Burt and Bretta St. Dennis; her siblings Margaret Enns, Franky McKinnon, Betty Mudryk and great-niece Amanda McKinnon-Davidson. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #238, Bowness or at any local Legion.
