It is with great sadness the family announces Douglas (Doug) McArthur of Carstairs passed away at the Didsbury District Health Services Long Term Care on Thursday December 4th, 2025 at the age of 83.

He is survived by his wife Betty of 61 years, he will be lovingly remembered by his brother Gale (Cathy);sister Doreen.; his children Jimmy, Danny, Dale (Debbie); his grandchildren Donald (Jennifer), Brett (Catherine), Sean (Breanna), Chantel and Myia. He was pre-deceased by his mother Dura Weldon

Dad (Grandpa) your boys & grandchildren got this from here & will continue to carry on doing the things you loved – Hunting, fishing, farming & the list continues. We love you & miss you already.

As per his wishes there will not be a service held.

The family is sending a special thank you to all the staff and volunteers in Unit 1 at Didsbury Long Term Care for their kindness shown to Doug during the past 3 years.

Douglas will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.
