Shirley Jean Thomas (née Riddle)

It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of Shirley Jean Thomas, born May 19, 1941, in Hanna, Alberta. Shirley passed away peacefully at home on February 19, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Shirley will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Tracey (Glenn) Alexander; her son, Clayton (Lesley) Thomas; and her cherished grandchildren, Jordan (Michelle) and Alyssa (Aaron). She is also survived by her very special little sister, Thyra (Wilf) Kautz, as well as many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Bill Riddle, and her sister, Lynn. Shirley will be remembered for her strength, warmth, and the deep love she had for her family & friends. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. At Shirley’s request, there will be no formal service. We ask that you honour her memory in your own way and keep her in your hearts.
