It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Roy Philip Busse, on Friday, June 2, 2023 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Red Deer, Alberta at the age of 82 years, surrounded by his immediate family. Roy was born to parents, Ed and Ina Busse, on March 14, 1941, in Killam, Alberta. Roy was the youngest of four brothers and two sisters. Before retirement in 1992, Roy was employed as a first-class Steam Engineer at the Battle River Power Plant; Roy also had his Millwright Certificate and Pilot license. After retirement in 1992, Roy and Donna-Lee turned a greyhound bus into a beautiful motorhome and in 2002, they sold their house in Forestburg, bought an acreage west of Forestburg, and renovated it to suit their needs. Roy was always busy working on the acreage, rebuilding or inventing something, planting trees, and planting a large garden for his family and friends. Roy and Donna-Lee moved to Red Deer, Alberta, to CollegeSide Gardens in August of 2022. Roy will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and crazy sense of humor and he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Roy will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife Donna-Lee of 61 years of marriage; his son, Danny (Rie) and their two girls, Mischa and Makaylee; his son, Barry (Karen) and Barry’s two children, Kyle and Kristen and Karen’s two children, Stephanie and Shawn; along with one brother, Robert, and numerous nieces and nephews.
