BERGEN, Connie

1941 ~ 2025

Mrs. Connie Anita Bergen (née Combest), formerly of Stettler County, passed away at home in Red Deer on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the age of 84 years. Connie was born on November 25, 1941, in Stettler, Alberta to Faye and Ivan Combest, growing up West of Erskine. Connie led an adventurous life moving from Halifax in her early twenties, then moving to Victoria, Fort St. John, Edmonton, and then Campbell River. It was in Campbell River where Connie met the love of her life, Abe, whom she married in the late nineties. Connie was a bank teller, a truck driver, a ticket agent for the Quadra Island Ferry, and partial business owner for Fife Trucking and Polynesian Charters. She was an amazing seamstress and was very crafty. In 2005, she returned to Alberta to enjoy her retirement, first in Sylvan Lake, and then in Red Deer.

Connie is survived by her daughter, Anita Duff; grandchildren, Kyle and Calvin Shaw; great grandchild Hailey (Chase) Shaw; second daughter, Peggy Schiffner; sister, Laura Schiffner of Stettler; numerous nieces and nephews, and many beloved friends. Connie was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

A private family Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
