Lorna passed away on Friday, December 19, 2025, after a nine-year fight with Frontal Temporal Dementia. Lorna was born on October 27, 1941, in Delburne, Alberta, to Russell and Margaret Craig. She had seven younger brothers, which helped form who she was. Lorna went to school in Delburne and then went on to university, where she earned her teaching degree. She taught for two years in Leslieville before meeting and marrying Dennis Wolney in August 1962. Together, they raised a family, and after their three children grew older, she took a job as a school secretary. Lorna loved going for a drive anywhere Dennis would take her, but her favorite place of all was going to see the mountains and she was always in awe of them. She loved camping and quadding with Dennis and they went on many enjoyable trips. Lorna watched numerous ball games and loved visiting the arena to watch her children, grandchildren, and the Rebels play hockey. Lorna enjoyed solving puzzles, playing games and cards, but her greatest passion was reading–she was rarely seen without a book or other reading material in hand.
Lorna was predeceased by her husband, Dennis; her son, Mark; mother, Margaret; father, Russell: four brothers, Ron, Lloyd, Larry, and Lyle Craig; nephew, Brad Craig; father and mother in law, Teofil and Bernice Wolney; and brothers in law, John and Barry Wolney.
Lorna leaves behind her children, Sherron (Derek) Moos, Murray (Keltie) Wolney and daughter in law, Angela (Fred) Thompson; three brothers, Melvin Craig, Harvey Craig and Alvin (Helen) Craig; two sisters in law, Carol Craig and Ev Craig; sisters in law Marilyn (John) Baggs, Barb Wolney and Jean Wolney; eight grandchildren, Alysha (Keegan) Thompson, Brant (Kaylee) Moos, Caitlin (Jeff) McLeod, Tyler Wolney, Spencer Wolney, Kolton Landin, Rex Wolney and Levi (Jorja) Wolney; and nine great-grandchildren; Hayes, Ivy, Pierce, Cole, Heidi, Cassimer, Carson, Kyla, and Craig; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, and family too numerous to list but not forgotten.
