It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Rose ‘Lynne’ Johnson on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at the age of 81 years. Lynne was born in Nanaimo, British Columbia to Carol and Stanley Johnson. She spent her younger years growing up on Vancouver Island, before she moved to Edmonton, Alberta with Lyle in 1966, where they raised their family. Lynne worked in the Hospitality Industry for many years. She loved meeting new people, and listening to their stories. Lynne was an avid bowler in her younger years, and loved to belly dance; as well as being involved in many EPS Clubs and activities alongside Lyle. Lynne and Lyle spent their retirement years at Fork Lake; enjoying ice fishing, playing cards, bingo and hot tubbing with friends and family. Lynne was passionate about reading; she loved all kinds of books and surely read thousands in her lifetime. We will always treasure memories of her sitting quietly with her book and a hot cup of tea. She has given us so much to remember and will always be dear in our hearts. Lynne leaves to mourn her loss, her son, Wayne (Cindy), her daughters, Laurie, Lea (Tony), and Gayle (Gilbert), her eight grandchildren, Shalynn (Kelsey), Stephen (Eryn), Keith, Karl, Bear, Samantha, Tyler (Chelsea) and Taylor and her eleven great grandchildren, Conner, Scotia, Jackson, Hazen, Becca, Aspen, Kayla, Carter, Braxton, Lexi and Kolby. She will also be sadly missed by her sister, Catherine; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by the love of her life, Lyle in 2010. Many thanks to Eckville Manor and Michener Long Term Care for the excellent care Lynne received while residing with them. At Lynne’s request, there will be no Memorial Service; however, a Private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. If desired, Memorial Donations in Lynne’s honor may be made directly to the Canadian Diabetes Association at www.diabetes.ca. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com.
