1940 ~ In Loving Memory of Mrs. Annice Catherine Erichson (Haner) ~ 2020

Mrs. Annice Catherine Erichson of Red Deer, Alberta, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020, at the age of 79 years. Annice was born in Stettler, Alberta, the youngest daughter of Russell and Pearl Haner. Annice grew up on the family farm in Gadsby, Alberta, with her four older sisters. There she met her husband, Ray, whom she married in 1957. Annice and Ray moved to Red Deer, where Annice worked for the Alberta Treasury Branch and the Red Deer Planning Commission, before she and Ray started their family. After close to twenty years ‘leave’, Annice was able to return to the Red Deer Regional Planning Commission for a while, before taking on a few other endeavors, and then retiring. Annice was a loving mother to her children, Lois and Scott and, as a family, they enjoyed summers visiting Banff, and camping in Alberta and British Columbia. In later years, Annice and Ray enjoyed camping close by, and were often visited at their camp spots, by their children and grandchildren. In their retirement, Annice and Ray curled and did some travelling with friends. They didn’t go too far for very long though, because they really enjoyed being with their grandchildren; and attending school and sports events, or whatever their grandchildren were part of. Grandma Annice could always be counted on to be their biggest fan, to attend school tea parties, or stand in, as parent helper. She was committed to cooking Sunday dinner for the whole family every week; providing a place where family could be together, and her grandchildren grew up with one another. They still have a very special bond, thanks to Grandma. Annice will be lovingly remembered by her daughter, Lois Erichson (Dwight Steen), her son, Scott Erichson (Jana), her grandchildren, Perry Cramer (Colleen), Duncan Cramer (Rachel), Haley Plamondon (Lucas), Dayna Power (Alex), Jilaine Porterfield (Louis), and her precious great grandchildren, Elias and Renee Cramer, Ezekial and Clark Porterfield and Ellis Power, and by Jim Cramer (Willa). Annice will also be sadly missed by her sisters, Elpha Senft (Ron) and Maxine Hansel. Annice was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Erichson, her sisters, Mildred McMillian and Blanche McKay and her parents, Russell and Pearl Haner. A Private Interment will be held at a later date at the Gadsby Cemetery, Gadsby, Alberta. If desired, Memorial Donations in Annice’s honor may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society at www.cancer.ca, or to the Breast Cancer Society of Canada at www.bcsc.ca.
