The family would like to announce the peaceful passing of Vera Christabel Gramlich in Calgary, Alberta, on Thursday, October 31, 2024, at the age of 84 years. Vera was born in England, the eldest of three siblings. She trained and worked as a nurse and midwife, in England. As a young woman, she immigrated to Canada, where she worked in Toronto and met her husband, Garry. The couple moved to Saskatchewan, where they had two children. The family soon moved to Red Deer, Alberta, where Vera worked at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre for thirty years. She enjoyed her work as a Labor and Delivery Nurse. Vera raised her children as a single parent through most of their school years. She enjoyed classical music, gardening, and watching golf and tennis on television. She was a member of the Secular Franciscan Catholic Order in Red Deer. Vera lived in Red Deer for many years until she moved to Calgary in 2021, due to health issues. Vera will be lovingly remembered by her children, Joanne (Jason) and Mark (Lisa); her grandchildren, Jessica (David), Kristyna, Jordan, Cody, Riley (Kat), and Jasmine (Aaron); and her great granddaughter, Everly. She will also be sadly missed by her siblings and family in England, Christine (George) and David (Lynn) and many of her friends.
