After a life well lived and deeply loved as a devoted Mum, Grandma, Great Grandmother and Aunt, Pat Longmuir passed away peacefully on May 11, 2026 at the age of 87 years.
Pat was the first born to Ernie and Jean Soul in Thornbury Ontario, on March 6, 1939. They soon returned to the family farm in Fairmont, Saskatchewan, where their family was completed with Pat’s siblings, Kay, Don and Judy. Pat attended school in Kindersley Saskatchewan, and after graduating she spent a few years working at Beaver Lumber where she gained many lifelong friends along the way.
In 1964, Pat married lan Longmuir with whom she shared 62 cherished years. Over her lifetime they enjoyed travelling to campgrounds in Alberta, British Columbia, and the United States. Pat was a steadfast worker for Handel Transport with 19 years of service and never a sick day taken. After retiring in 1998, Pat and lan spent 20+ years wintering in Yuma, Arizona where they enjoyed happy hours, built many lasting friendships and created wonderful memories.
Pat was known for her hospitality, always cooking and baking for others. She loved her large family dinners, insisting on hosting all the special events. Pat lovingly shared her gift of crocheting and knitting, often making handmade gifts for everyone in the family.
Pat was a faithful volunteer over her lifetime, for Girl Guides Canada, community baseball and especially Pioneer Acres of Alberta, where her kindness and willingness to help made a lasting impact.
Pat is survived by her husband lan; children Bonnie (Wes), Darrell (Shelley), Sherrell (Colin) and Shelley (Kelly); grandchildren Michael, Jeffrey, Cody, Kylie, Braxton, Alyssa, Aaralyn, Kiara and Bryson; two cherished great grandchildren Beau and Bennett; brother Donald (Hillie); sister Judy (Jack) as well as many nieces, nephews and special friends.
