Mrs. Ruby May Sakofsky passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, Red Deer, Alberta on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at the age of 83 years. Ruby was born June 30th, 1939 in Edmonton, Canada. Her parents Delbert and Olive Whitesell raised Ruby in Rimbey where she enjoyed horse back riding, and the beauty of farm life. Ruby graduated from Rimbey High School where she met Gordon Sadofsky. Their loved bloomed and she married her high school sweetheart. Ruby and Gordon had two beautiful girls, Brenda and Wendy and one son, Trevor, they raised them on a farm outside of Brooks. Ruby enjoyed being a pioneer. You would find her barrel racing to working as a manager in a Saloon. Ruby used to light up a room with her singing, cooking and love for her family. She spent her last few years living in Red Deer enjoying the beauty of life and grateful to spend it with her Granddaughter, Michelle. Ruby is survived by her daughters, Brenda and Wendy; her grandchildren, Michelle, Michael from Calgary, Kimberly, Rochelle, Michael W., Gabrielle, and Danielle; her great grandchildren and great great grandchildren as well as numerous family members and dear friends. Ruby was predeceased by her husband, Gordon in 2011 and their son, Trevor in 1999. A Memorial Service will be held at the Parkland Funeral Home, 6287-67A Street (Taylor Drive), Red Deer, Alberta on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m.
