Mrs. Josette Chase, of Sundre, Alberta, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, at the age of 86 years.

Josette was born in Switzerland, where she worked in both the clockmaking and chocolate industries — two of the country’s most famous specialties. In her twenties, she moved to Canada, first settling in Quebec and later making her home in Alberta. During this time, she met and married Geoffrey Chase, and together they welcomed their daughter, Jennifer, with whom they shared many years as a family.

Throughout her life, Josette embraced many roles. Professionally, she worked as a geophysical assistant, realtor, and therapeutic massage practitioner. However, her most important and cherished role was that of mother and grandmother. She was passionate and full of life, with a wonderful sense of humour and a strong sense of adventure. Josette loved travelling and dancing, and she approached life with warmth, curiosity, and joy.

Josette was deeply loved by her partner, Ed, who brought laughter and warmth to her life. She is also lovingly remembered by her daughter, Jennifer, and granddaughter, Ava, of Hamilton, Montana, as well as her niece, Isabelle, and nephew, Thierry, of Switzerland.

She was predeceased by her father, Jean; her mother, Jeanne; and her sisters, Monique and Rose-Marie.
