A Graveside Service followed the Celebration of Life on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the Dapp Cemetery, Dapp, Alberta. A luncheon was held at the Westlock Memorial Hall – Elks Room following the Celebration of Life."

LATIMER, William ‘Ted’
1939 – 2025
Mr. William ‘Ted’ Edward Latimer of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at Red Deer County, Alberta on Sunday, November 30, 2025 at the age of 86 years. Ted was born in 1939 at Edmonton, Alberta and grew up on a farm in the Dapp, Alberta area with his parents, Norman and Christine, and his five siblings. He moved to New Norway to attended High School in Camrose, Alberta and after graduation joined the Air Force in 1959 and after his tour was completed, he returned to Dapp. Ted met and married his wife, Andrea ‘Dee’ in Dapp and together they raised their two children on the family farm. In 1986, his devoted wife, Andrea ‘Dee’ passed away, and in 1988 he married Donna Latimer. Together they lived in Onoway, Alberta and Ted worked at Lac Ste. Anne County as an Assessor for over twenty years. While there, Ted was involved with the Onoway Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 132, where he served on the Executive and with the Legion for over fifty years. He was also involved with the Alberta Beach Lutheran Church Executive and volunteered as the Treasurer for the Blueberry Music Festival for many years. In 2023, Donna and Ted moved to Red Deer, Alberta, where they currently resided. Ted loved spending time listening to bluegrass music, attending fiddle contests, camping, and spending time with friends and being with family. Ted was devoted to God, his family, he was always willing to help neighbours and was always involved in his community. Ted will be lovingly remembered by his children, Bruce and Frances; his stepson, Tim (Darlene) Gourley; his stepdaughter, Jo-Ann (Calvin) Symington; his grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his brothers and sister; his first wife, Andrea Latimer; and by his second wife, Donna Latimer on September 11, 2025. A Celebration of Ted’s Life was held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at the Westlock Memorial Hall – Elks Room, 9903 – 106 Street, Westlock, Alberta. A Public Visitation was also held from 11:00 a.m. – 11:25 a.m. prior to the Celebration of Life. A Graveside Service followed the Celebration of Life on Friday, December 12, 2025 at the Dapp Cemetery, Dapp, Alberta.
