Richard ‘Rick’ Arling Eastman, beloved husband of Ruth Eastman, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, December 2, 2022 the age of 84 years. Rick was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandpa, brother, brother-in-law, and uncle. Rick was born in Beaverlodge, Alberta on March 9, 1938 and he completed his High School in White Rock, British Columbia. Shortly after graduation, Rick became an Air Frame Technician in 1956 and then he enlisted in the Canadian Armed Forces on November 16, 1960. Rick proudly devoted many years of service to the Royal Canadian Air Forces and the Royal Canadian Air Cadets. After retirement, he enjoyed his time working at Alberta Industrial Metals, and then he went on to work at the Red Deer College, Athletics Department, as well as volunteering with the Red Deer County Fire Department. Rick will be lovingly remembered by his wife of sixty-three years, Ruth, his son, Alan Eastman, his daughters, Valerie (John) Strampel, and Cheryl Eastman, as well as his grandchildren, Christopher (Candy) Whittle, Desiree (Brady) Jackson, Talia (Zach) Gordon, and Stephen (Langley) Strampel, his great grandchildren, Blaze, Zoe, Madison, Georgina, Callen and Wynn. Rick is also survived by his brother, Martin (Anna) Eastman, his sisters-in-law, Ann (Gary) Stein, Caroline (Don) Rosichuck, Francie (Emil) Boyko, Barbie Parks, his brothers-in-law, Jim (Judy) Christensen and Fred (Vi) Christensen, along with numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends. Rick was predeceased by his mother, Vera Eastman (nee Chandler), his father, Thomas Allan Eastman and a brother-in-law, Wendell (Gabriel) Christensen.
