Patricia ‘Pat’ Schatz passed away peacefully with her daughter, Shawna and son, Darwin by her side on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at the age of 86 years. She was born and raised on the farm in the Aberdeen District east of Innisfail, Alberta. She worked as a grocery, drugstore and retail clerk and loved connecting with folks while an Avon lady. To express her love of family and friends she faithfully sent cards for special occasions to show people that someone was thinking of them. Pat and Bob moved from Innisfail, Alberta to Red Deer, Alberta in 1973 but kept in touch with their close group of friends in Innisfail. They had the good fortune of traveling and enjoyed camping. Pat also enjoyed gardening, flowers and spoiling her great-grandchildren especially. “GG”, as she was lovingly known to her family, is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Shawna (Dennis),her son, Darwin (Mary), her grandchildren, Angela (Ronnie), Curtis (Kailee), Brandon (Meghan), Emily (Eric), Nicola (Ryan) and her great-grandchildren, Ella, Lena, Blake, Charley, McKinley, Edson, Emrika and Elza. She is also deeply missed by her sister, Bev (Terry) and numerous extended family members. Pat was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Bob, her parents, Bill and Annie, her brothers, Charlie, Jack and Ken Hill and her precious grandson, Samuel. We would be amiss if we did not mention the exceptional care that mom received from the staff at Taylor View Towers (South Tower) Red Deer, Alberta over this past year. They treated mom with the utmost patience and kindness and for that we will be forever grateful. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Innisfail Golf Club, Events Building, 6080 Lakewood Drive, Innisfail, Alberta on Sunday, September 21, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Patricia’s honor may be made to the Cancer Society at cancer.ca, MS Canada at mscanada.ca or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
