Mr. Alvin Friedrich Stolz of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the age of 84 years. Alvin was born on September 24, 1938 in Empress, Alberta to Fred and Bertha Stolz. He grew up in Mendham, Saskatchewan and at age sixteen, he began carpentry. In his early twenties, he purchased his own backhoe and started an excavation and cribbing business. On July 10, 1965, he married Margaret Ullestad, and they lived in Mendham for five years, before moving to Alberta. Alvin purchased Trophy Loft Ltd. in 1970, which he ran until 1976. In 1976, Alvin began his home-building business in Red Deer. Over the years, he built many homes for people in and around Central Alberta. Then, in his later years, he branched out to develop commercial warehouses until hanging up his hammer in 2015. Alvin will be remembered for his quiet, gentle nature, his strong work ethic, and his love of family. Alvin will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Margaret Stolz, his son, Dwayne (Susan) Stolz, his daughter, Dawn (Ron) Pickles, his grandchildren, Jonathan (Jillian) and Emily (Selvin). He will also be sadly missed by his sister, Evelyn (Vern Blehm), his brother, Gordon (Delores), along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Alvin was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Bertha Stolz, and his sisters, Esther (Charles) Nagel, Violet (Gordon) Nagel. A Memorial Service for Alvin will be held at a later date. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta.
