Harry Alexander Drever passed away peacefully at Olds Long Term Care on Friday, December 27, 2024, at the age of 86.
Born in St. Margaret’s Hope, Orkney Islands on July 14, 1938. He was predeceased by his father Tom Drever, his mother, Lil Drever and his nephew, J. Aleksandr Vollmann. Harry will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Alice of 47 years, his step-son Greg (Kathy) Sanderson, step-daughter Bonnie (Patrick) O’Rourke and his grandchildren Melissa (Mitchell) Duncan, Kevin (Tara) O’Rourke, Sara Sanderson (Mike Fankhauser), his sister Jean (Jim) Young as well as many extended family and friends.
Harry was a prominent member and co-owner of the Olds Auction Mart for many years. He was a well-respected Auctioneer and businessman in the community.
Always a cowboy and a gentleman, Harry will be remembered for his kind heart and his sense of humor.
A huge thank you to the staff and volunteers at Olds Long Term Care. Your care of Harry during his time there as well as your kindness and comfort shown to his whole family were exceptional.
A Celebration of Harry’s life will be held at the Olds Canadian Legion at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2025.
Memorial Donations in Harry’s honor may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation or the Alzheimer Society of Calgary.
