It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Garry Peterson Leavitt, formerly of Innisfail, Alberta on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 at Bethany Collegeside, Red Deer, Alberta, at the age of 85 years after a long battle with Dementia. Dad was born on April 18, 1938, in Creston, British Columbia to Leo and Louise Leavitt. He was the second youngest of nine children. He spent many years as a Superintendent of road construction and then as a Pipeline Inspector. He obtained his pilots license and purchased a Cessna 182. He was right at home in the skies, flying everywhere. Dad enjoyed his horses, camping, hunting and being with family (especially the grandkids and great grandkids), and after retirement, he could always be found golfing at the Innisfail Golf Course. He also enjoyed travelling and soaking up the sun. He traveled to Australia, where he was able to watch Greg Norman golf, and golfed in Myrtle Beach and took several trips to Mexico. Garry is lovingly remembered by his three daughters, Yvonne (John), Rachel (Bryan), and Adele (Mike), his granddaughters, Jennifer (Spence), Kelsey (John), Jessica (Zak), and Cortney (Kevin), and his great grandchilden, Ash, Aliya, Josh, Kaitlyn, Rylee, Dani, Brook, Tucker, Maeve, Nixon and Gia, as well as several nieces and nephews.
