MADUKE, Victoria Jeanette (née Kaszuba)
December 6, 1937 – March 4, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and Baba, Victoria Maduke, on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at the age of 88 years.
Victoria was born in Alonsa, Manitoba, on December 6, 1937, to Annie and Joseph Kaszuba. One of ten children, she grew up on the family farms in Manitoba, where she learned the values of hard work, resilience, deep family connection and her faith, values she carried with her throughout her life.
She married the love of her life, Russell, on September 3, 1960, and together they lived across five provinces. She was a devoted mother to her four children and created a home filled with love.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Shelley, Cynthia (Rick), Candace (Al), and Corey (Lezlie); her grandchildren: Amanda (Bart), Alycia (Ross), Kassie (Ty), Chelsea (Nick), Kristen (Brennan), Tyler (Makayla), Braedon, Josh, and Maya; and nine great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy. Being a Baba was one of her greatest roles, and she poured endless love into her grandchildren.
Victoria was predeceased by her husband Russell, her parents Joseph and Annie Kaszuba, and nine siblings.
Victoria had a deep and unwavering faith, and a profound love for her God and her Lord Jesus Christ. Her faith was the foundation of her life and guided everything she did. Known as a true prayer warrior, she carried the people she loved in her heart daily. Whether you knew her for a lifetime or met her only once, you knew she was praying for you.
She expressed her love in the ways she knew best, through her cooking, her home, and the care she put into everything she made. Her perogies, cabbage rolls, donuts, and canning became a cherished part of family gatherings. She also found joy in tending to her garden and flowers, taking pride in watching them grow and bloom. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including playing bingo, feeding her chickadees, and you could often find her with yarn in hand, crocheting dishcloths for those she loved.
Her love lives on in every family meal, every tradition, and every memory we hold close.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Parish, Innisfail, Alberta on Saturday, May 16 at 11:00 a.m. If family and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Red Cross at 5301 – 43 Street, #105, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 1C8.
