It is with great sadness that the family of Ralph Krause announce his passing on October 24, 2021 in Olds AB. Ralph was born on July 20, 1937 in Innisfail, the middle of 3 sons to Ernest and Ivy Krause. He grew up on the family farm and went to school at Horseshoe Lake, Innisfail and Torrington. After high school he moved to Calgary and started working for the Hudson’s Bay Company, driving a delivery truck. He married Patricia (Pat) Flinn on June 15, 1960 at the May City Missionary Church. They resided in Calgary and began a family. They were blessed with 4 boys and 2 girls. In 1965 they moved back to the Mayton area to begin farming with his brother-in-law Keith Flinn. Ralph and Keith farmed together until the mid 80’s, at which time Ralph’s boys became active in the farming operation. Even after moving to Olds in 2000, Ralph was very actively involved in the farm until his passing. Ralph enjoyed camping, fishing, curling, tinkering with his antique vehicles and tractors, woodworking, gardening and helping anyone who needed a hand. Ralph’s quiet faith helped him through the difficult times in his life, as well as through his battles with bladder cancer and heart issues in the past 2 years. Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Pat, of 61 years; his children Les (Marie), Brent (Carrie), Reg (Cindy), Jeff (Lesley-Ann), Carolyn, (Aaron) and Leanne (Jason); 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother Lyle (Linda); sister-in-law Mary; and brother-in-law Keith (Shirley). In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Ralph’s honour may be made to the charity of your choice. A private family service was held on October 28, 2021.
