It is with heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Doreen Cecile Peters at the Rosefield
Centre, Innisfail, Alberta on Monday, June 6, 2022 at the age of 84 years. Doreen was born in Cranbrook, British Columbia on October 14, 1937, to Ruth and Ole Olson. The family moved to the Spruce View area in the spring of 1940, where Doreen grew up. After completing school, Doreen went to work in Calgary, Alberta at the age of fifteen years. She first worked at the Imperial Bank and then at Royalite Oil in the Audit Departments. In November of 1959, her and Bill Peters were married in Calgary and lived the rest of their lives in Innisfail, Alberta. Doreen was the accountant for her and Bill’s Construction Company; and worked part time at Edgar and Scott Accountants, as well as Tulloch and Stretch Law Office. Doreen will be lovingly remembered by her two loving daughters, Lynn Stevens (Chuck) of Watson, Saskatchewan and Lois Peters (Gord Nurcombe) of Innisfail, Alberta, her granddaughter, Dr. Nicole Lieberman (Joshua) and her two great grandchildren, Zeke and Naomi of Seattle, Washington. She will also be deeply missed by her sister-in-law, Caroline Olson of Calgary, Alberta and numerous nieces and nephews. Doreen was predeceased by her parents, Ruth and Ole, her husband, Bill, her brothers, Ken and Eric and a sister, Helen. At this time, the family would like to thank Dr. Maree and the entire staff of the Rosefield Centre and Innisfail Health Centre as well as the ladies of Homecare for their excellent and compassionate care of Doreen. Also a sincere thank you to friends, relatives and neighbors for their care and concern, for rides, errands, shopping, helping Doreen out and being there during this difficult journey. At Doreen’s request, a Funeral Service will not be held.
