BUSCHERT, Alice

1937 ~ 2026

Mrs. Alice Buschert went home to be in the arms of her Saviour on the morning of Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at the age of 88 years. She was a daughter of God, beloved wife, cherished mom, devoted grandma, and friend to all she met. She fought cancer right to the end – and now the battle is done. We take solace in knowing that she is no longer in pain – but she will be deeply missed by all who have the privilege to call her family or friend. Alice was born and raised in Elmira, Ontario. She was taught from a young age of God’s love for her. After marrying Glen in 1971, they together moved to a farm just outside of Carstairs, Alberta. After renting at a few different locations, they finally purchased and settled into their own farm near Cremona. She loved being a wife and mother. Alice kept her days filled with farming, gardening, chickens, quilting and chasing her boys. After she and Glen retired from farming, they enjoyed travelling the world – with one of her favourite trips being a river cruise down the Rhine. Alice loved to cook for family – and her fudge was a favourite among her extended family. She also loved singing alto in the church choir, puzzling, reading, and in later years, she loved doting on her grandchildren, decorating Christmas cookies, reading stories, and playing games. Alice will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Glen, of 54 years, her sons Ken (Lana) and Cam, her grandchildren, Ruth, Melissa, Thea, Danielle and Samuel, and many sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews – both near and far.

After living a full life, she is home.

A Memorial Service will be held at the West Zion Bible Church, 10-2155 Township Road 304, Carstairs, Alberta at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026 with Pastor Colin Green presiding.
