OLIVER, Josephine (nee Kipta)
1937-2025
It is with great sadness, the family of Josephine “Jo” Oliver announces her passing Sunday, December 7, 2025 surrounded by her loving family at her side. Josephine was born June 26, 1937, in Saskatchewan. She spent her childhood years living in Rolling Hills, Alberta, her married years in Calgary and the last eleven years in Red Deer. She worked and retired from Safeway and finished her working years at Sears. Josephine’s happiest times were spent with family. During family gatherings she would be seen watching, smiling and taking in every ounce of love and happiness. Josephine was never bothered by speaking her mind and letting you know just what she thought, whether it was perceived good or not. However, she had all the best of all intentions and a humor coupled with wit that caught most by surprise. Josephine was survived by her two daughters, Linda (Craig) Bulmer of Calgary, Alberta; Debbie (Chris) Weir of Nanaimo, British Columbia; and her son, John (Bonnie) Oliver of Red Deer, Alberta; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, four sisters; one brother; and three sister in-laws. She was predeceased by her husband, John Oliver; granddaughter, Jolene; and great granddaughter, Emily; her parents and two brothers. Her family would like to send out a great amount of love and thanks to the incredible staff and caregivers at Taylor View Towers which she considered family for nine years. Josephine will be loved and missed by her family and friends. Granting Josphine’s wishes there will be a small family graveside memorial at Mountain View Cemetery, Calgary, Alberta, at a later date.
