It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Doris Jeske, of Red Deer, Alberta, at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Monday, August 29, 2022 at the age of 85 years. Doris was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, the fourth child of Emil and Emma Jeske. Doris grew up and began her education in a country School within the Clearwater District in Southern Alberta. Later in her life, Doris and the family moved to Ensign, Alberta, where she attended Grade School and then on to Junior High School at Brant, Alberta. At a young age, Doris moved to Calgary, Alberta to train as a Nurses Aide and upon graduation, she moved to Bassano, Alberta, to begin her nursing career. Several years later, Doris, along with the family, was on the move again to Red Deer, Alberta, where she furthered her career working at the Deer Home, and later transferred the Ponoka Mental Health Centre. Her latest and last career move was working at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre, retiring thirty-five years later in 2005. During her many working years, Doris also enjoyed travelling to places like Hawaii, Europe, and Africa. She was an avid walker, and enjoyed many campouts with her two close friends, Helen and Judy. Doris will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Audrey; her two brothers, Harold and Gerald, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Doris will be forever missed by her family; they are very grateful for the many years spent with her.
