Mr. Stanley ‘Stan’ Kenneth Will of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at Bethany CollegeSide Long Term Care on Thursday, June 29, 2023 at the age of 86 years. Stan was born in Didsbury, Alberta on July 29, 1936, and was the youngest child of David and Susan Will. His mother passed away in 1941, and his father passed away in 1944. This left Stan an orphan at the age of 8. Stan and his older sister moved in with their Aunt Lil for a bit and then they both moved to Wood’s Homes in Calgary. Stan and his sister were taken in by their older brother, Bill and his wife, Ivy, after the war. In his teens, Stan met Marilyn Margaret Gail, and they were married on March 23, 1956. They had their son, Kenneth Michael Will shortly after, and eventually purchased their own house in Calgary. Stan worked most of his life in the Tire Business, eventually owing his own shop, Stan’s Tire and Retreading. He bought a lot in the summer village of Sunbreaker Cove in 1973, where he built his home away from home, and retired there with his wife in 1992. He moved to Red Deer in 2022. He enjoyed golfing and playing hockey. He loved hockey so much that he managed his own hockey team in the 1970’s out of Calgary, called Stan’s Trojans. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends. He touched the lives of so many and will be dearly missed. Stan will be lovingly remembered by his granddaughter, Sandy (nee Will) Bailie (Joe Hood); his grandsons, Steven Will (Wendi) and Wayne Will (Lisa); his great granddaughters, Lisa Will, Hailey Will and Cieanna Hood; his great grandsons, Keegan Will, Connor Will, Kalum Will, Wylder Will, Alex Will, Bobby Will, and Brayton Hood; and his great great grandson, James Oliver Jackson, as well as numerous family members and dear friends. Stan was predeceased by his wife, Marilyn Margaret Will (nee Gail); his parents, David and Susan Will; his son, Kenneth Michael Will; his brothers, William ‘Bill’ Will, Edward ‘Ed’ Will, George Will and Walter Will, as well as his sister, Caroline (nee Will) Fletcher. A Private Celebration of Stan’s Life will be held at a later date. If desired, Memorial Donations in Stan’s honor may be made directly to the Central Alberta Humane Society at www.cahumane.com.
