Our father Graeme Bruce Cameron of Ponoka, Alberta passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday February 25, 2026, at the Centennial Centre in Ponoka at the age of 89 years. Graeme was born on October 12, 1936, in Innisfail, Alberta to Gordon Hugh Cameron and Beatrice Victoria May (Oakes) Cameron. He was the third of five children, (2 brothers Richard Cameron and Frank Cameron and his 2 sisters Kathleen Piesse and Mary Cameron). In his younger years, Graeme was very athletic and excelled in track and field. He joined the Army and proudly served in Canada as a Peacekeeper, including time spent in Germany. Following his military service, Graeme spent many years driving heavy haul trucks and working in the oil rigs of Alberta. Over the years, he was involved in various construction activities and was known for his strong work ethic. He had a deep appreciation for animals and the outdoors. Graeme was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Bertha Cameron (2012); his partner, Latisha Bruno (2024); his sons, Douglas Cameron (2019) and Gordon Cameron (2026); and his brothers, Richard and Frank Cameron. He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Catherine Cameron of Alix, Alberta and Danielle Cameron of Yahk, British Columbia; his son, Samuel Bruno of Creston, British Columbia; his sister, Kathleen Piesse; his grandchildren, Gillian Gramlich, Garrett Gramlich, Alyssa Christie, Sara Cameron, and Stephanie Cameron; and his great-grandchildren, Kohen, Jack, Max, and Pierce, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place at Parkland Funeral Home, Red Deer, Alberta. Interment will follow at the Innisfail Cemetery. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Graeme will be remembered for his strength, dedication to his family, and his love of the land and the outdoors.
