SPILLER, Donald
1936 – 2025
Mr. Donald ‘Don’ Joseph Spiller of Innisfail, Alberta passed away at Bethany Collegeside, Red Deer, Alberta on Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at the age of 89 years. Don was born in Killam, Alberta to Harry and Helen Spiller. Don had one brother and seven sisters. He finished high school and spent six months in the Air Force. After that, he farmed for six years, he then went on to work at the Bowden Penitentiary for thirty years. Don was also a member of the Innisfail Royal Canadian Legion for fifty years. He loved to do carpentry jobs on his days off and enjoyed playing and watching baseball and hockey. Don will be lovingly remembered by his wife of sixty-nine years, Audrey, his four sons, Daniel (Debbie), Brian (Darlene), Kevin (Paula, and Patrick (Angela), his daughter, Dawn (Gordon), his seventeen grandchildren, and his fourteen great grandchildren. He will also be deeply missed by his brother and five sisters. Don was predeceased by his daughter, Kim, his grandson, Tony, two sisters, six sisters-in-law, and five brothers-in-law. A Prayer Vigil will be held at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 4304 – 49 Avenue, Innisfail, Alberta on Friday, January 16, 2026 at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 4304 – 49 Avenue, Innisfail, Alberta on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. If desired, Memorial Donations in Don’s honor may be made to the Innisfail Health Centre at 5023 – 42 Street, Innisfail, Alberta, T4G 1A9.
