It is with great sadness that we announce Emil Martin Lajeunesse passed away peacefully with his family by his side, on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at the age of 87 years. Even though he was taken away from this world, his loving heart will leave a beacon of light for all.
Emil was born on September 11, 1936, at Spiritwood, Saskatchewan, to Oscar and Caroline ‘Terri’ Lajeunesse. Emil was in the Oilfield sector for over fifty years. He was a legend, revered, and an iconic man, and will be deeply missed. We cannot forget about his love of golf. He found peace in the green expanses of the fairways, joy in the perfect swing and contentment in the company of friends. Emil was an incredible husband, father, grandfather and brother. As we say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that he is at peace and when you feel a gentle breeze on your face, know that he is giving you a great big hug.
Emil is survived by the love of his life for sixty four years, his wife, Donna; he was a very proud father to his three daughters, Laura (Bill), Shonna (Hal), and Cathy; and his son, Emil Jr. (Kerry). Emil will also be sadly missed by his ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; his brother Gerry; his sisters, Lucille and Geraldine; and his sister-in-laws, Rachel, Junie and Mary; as well as numerous family members and dear friends. Emil was predeceased by his brothers, Andy, Lawrence, Leo and Marcel.
