Thomson, Kathleen Mary

March 21, 1935 – April 17, 2026

Ms. Kathleen Thomson of Red Deer passed away on April 17, 2026 at the age of 91 years. Kathleen was born on March 21, 1935, to John William and Margaret May Thomson. She was raised alongside her three siblings on the family farm in the Little Red Deer District. Kathleen graduated from Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School before pursuing a nursing program at the University of Alberta. She dedicated her career to nursing, working at the Innisfail and Red Deer Regional Hospitals as a Public Health Nurse, where she found great fulfilment in caring for others.

Outside of her profession, Kathleen loved to golf, travel near and far, and if she had a partner, play Rummy all day. Kathleen also had a passion for curling and proudly participated in several bonspiels, including memorable wins alongside her sister Pat.

Kathleen will be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Jean Bennett and Pat Hornby as well as her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret Thomson and her brother, John Thomson.

A Memorial Service was held at Heartland Funeral Services, 4415 – 49 Street, Innisfail, Alberta on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 2:00 p.m.
