Mrs. Alice Lucille Beamish (nee Wilson) passed away peacefully at Red Deer, Alberta on Friday, June 28, 2024 at the age of 88 years. Alice was born on September 13, 1935, at Olds, Alberta. She spent a long and happy career working for AGT, from 1954 until her retirement in 1987. She loved her career, travelling, sports and volunteering. In 1972, on a business trip to Edmonton, she stopped in Red Deer to see friends and met the love of her life, Don Beamish (a Chrysler Man) at a dance. After a whirlwind romance, the happy couple were married on December 30.
Her full life included UNICEF Chairperson Red Deer, receiving the UNICEF Gold Award in 1996 for her dedicated service, singing with the Tony Connelly Singers, membership and volunteering with the Explorers, CGIT, Girl Guides, United Way and she was a dedicated member of the Gaetz Memorial United Church since 1965.
Alice will be lovingly remembered by her stepchildren, Judy Young, and Gary Beamish (Wendy); her grandchildren, Josh Young, Danny Young, Carly Beamish Lapainis (Jeremy); Samantha Beamish Foster (Jesse); Kelsey Girling Beamish, and her great grandchildren. She will also be sadly missed by her sister-in-law, Carol Turk, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, her large extended family, and many dear friends. Alice was predeceased by her loving husband, Donald Beamish, her parents, Monty Wilson and Hazel Corrigan, her grandson, Casey Beamish, her brother, Arthur Wilson, her sister, Phyllis McBride; her nephew, Brad Wilson; and her stepson-in-law, Ron Young.

A Celebration of Alice’s Life will be held at Gaetz Memorial United Church, 4758 – 50 Street, Red Deer, Alberta on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. If desired, in lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in Alice’s honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Regional Hospital Foundation at www.rdrhfoundation.com or to a Charity of the Donor’s choice.
