It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Mr. Edward Plover (formally of Châteauguay, Quebec), passed away peacefully after a valiantly fought battle against multiple myeloma cancer, surrounded by family, at the at the Red Deer Hospice on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. Although sad, the family is grateful that their dad enjoyed 87 years of living life to its fullest. Edward was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Anita Plover (nee Margaret Anita Chisholm) his parents, Dorothy and Patrick and a sister, Patricia (Plover) Kibzey. Edward worked for twenty years as a Police Officer with the Westmount (QC) and M.U.C Police Services. His career started as a “beat cop” with Edward eventually retiring as a Sergeant. The family wishes to thank the team at Red Deer Hospice Society for their care, compassion, and support in Edward’s final days. Special thanks to Dr. Rudolph and Dr. D. Rautenbach. Edward will be lovingly remembered by his three children, Angela, Julia, and Michael (Michelle), his grandchildren, Robert (Alana), Mark (Angie) and James (Bailey), and his great grandchildren, Aubree, Harper and Lucas. He will also be sadly missed by his sister, Dorothy (Edward) Davidson and his nephews, Tyler and Jason. Edward will also be mourned by his long-time friends in Quebec, and Ontario, as well as newer friends made at the Red Deer retirement residence, with special gratitude extended to Lois for taking such good care of our dad. As per Edward’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held in Châteauguay (QC) this spring. In lieu of flowers, if desired, the family asks that Memorial Donations in Edward’s honor be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society at www.reddeerhospice.com.
