It is with deep sorrow and heartbreak that the family of Howard announces his sudden passing on July 6th in Calgary, AB. Howard was born in Olds, Alberta on September 14, 1935 to Holger and Ruby Christensen. After his father served in WWII Howard, his parents and younger sister Irene moved to the farm near Harmattan, Alberta.
He passionately grew grain and raised cattle for over 70 years, being one of the first to import the Limousin cattle breed from France in the late 60s. He loved his farm, the people he worked with and the nature that surrounded him.
Howard is survived by his beloved wife Lioba and their children Elizabeth and Jonathan, his two sons Randy and Colin, and his sister and brother-in-law Rita and Robert Weir. As well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Holger and Ruby, his previous wife Eileen and his sister Irene Hookes.
