Born May 17, 1935, Ben Ichikawa was 7th child of immigrant parents, Denichi and Tomi from Japan. Ben leaves to survive his faithful caring wife of 56 years, Shoko, his daughters Christina and Julia(Sean), grandson Tyler, brother Daniel (Hiroko) and sister Yaeko, sisters in laws from deceased brothers, many nephews, nieces and their families of US and Japan, as well as brothers and sisters from deceased adopted parents Nelson and Margaret McBride.
Ben’s heart and passion was the ministry of Christian missions.
He is grateful for the fellowship of fellow workers. He is thankful for the care and support of the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Red Deer Emergency and the Olds hospital as well as the EMT in Red Deer. He is also grateful for the moral and spiritual ministry of pastoral staff and people at the Mount Olive Church. Ben deeply appreciated the care and kindness of the people in Three Hills for the many years he has lived there. Thank you to Heartland Funeral Services for their service. As per Ben’s wish, there will be no funeral service.
Thank you. Looking forward to seeing many of you in heaven.
