Mrs. Mary ‘Stella’ Estella Ann Graham (nee Manuel) of Innisfail, Alberta, passed away peacefully, on
Monday, July 11, 2022 at the age of 87 years. Stella was a role model and was cherished by so many
people that loved her. Stella was born in 1934, and raised in the Little Red Deer District, west of
Innisfail, Alberta. She was the eldest daughter of Grace (nee Scarlett) and Raymond Manuel. Stella’s
grandparents were part of the early pioneer families who homesteaded in the Little Red Deer District.
Stella attended the Little Red Deer School and the Red Deer Composite High. During her lifetime, she
was an active member of many organizations, including being an original member of the Little Red Deer
Dorcus Society. In her early years, Stella worked at the Royal Bank and Jacksons Pharmacy; she also
worked as Chairperson for the Social Services Appeal Board in Red Deer for fourteen years. She loved
her politics and was willing to share her opinion if asked. Stella was a wonderful cook and was often
feeding the farm crew during silage and harvest season. There were many festivities hosted by Stella and
visitors were always welcome at any time. She maintained close contact with family and friends
throughout her life. Stella and Roy travelled many times to Mexico and Palm Springs and enjoyed a few
months away each year from the Canadian winters. Stella leaves to mourn her loving husband of forty-
nine years, Roy, her daughter, Diane Lewis, her grandchildren, Randy (Janet) Lewis, Connie Lewis,
Amber (Garett) Nafziger, Cody Lewis, Erin (Vince) Miller, Clinton Noyes and Sylvia Noyes, and her
great grandchildren Erika, Nolan, Bennett, Slone, Treysen, Hayden, Mason, Dylan, Ian, and Kaydance.
She will also be sadly missed by sister, Elizabeth (Edgar) Robinson, her daughter-in law, Barb Lewis, all
of Innisfail, and her son-in-law, Jim Laverick of Spruce Grove; as well as numerous extended family
and friends. Estella was predeceased by her first husband, Edward Lewis in 1967, her sons, Bill in 2015,
Steven in 2002, Kevin in 1975, a daughter, Darlene 2006, and a son-in-law, Larry (Otto) Lehrman in
2020. A Funeral Service will be held at the Innisfail United Church, 4720 – 48 Avenue, Innisfail,
Alberta on Friday, July 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Innisfail Cemetery, Innisfail,
