Mr. Kenneth Andrew ‘Ken’ Suitor of Athabasca, Alberta, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Margaret Suitor, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the age of 87 years. Ken was born in Arrowwood, Alberta to Edith and Andrew Suitor, the fourth of five sons. He was raised on the family ranch near Cessford, Alberta. Ken’s early education began in a one room school; and eventually he attended a boarding school in Brooks, Alberta. Ken was a man with many interests, he earned his pilot’s license as a young man, was a lifelong entrepreneur and even explored mining developments in the Canadian north. In 1976, Kenneth married his soulmate, Margaret Hees. With his brother, Allan and their wives, he developed and built the Fort Motor Inn, in Fort Assiniboine, Alberta. Ken was also a proud charter member of the Fort Assiniboine Lions Club. Margaret and Ken enjoyed travelling worldwide. They had quite the talent for finding treasures at garage sales, and flea markets, all over Western Canada and the United States. In 2014, Ken was devastated by the loss of Margaret to Pancreatic Cancer, and until his health prevented it, he continued to spend his winters in Arizona, just like they used to. Ken will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Robert (Lise) Suitor of Red Deer, Alberta and Brian Suitor of El Paso, Texas, his daughter, Sharon Baynham of Brooks, Alberta, his ten grandchildren, his thirteen great grandchildren, and his brother Lloyd (Joyce) Suitor of Toronto, Ontario. Ken was predeceased by his wife, Margaret, his parents, his three brothers, Roy, Allan and Shorty, one son, Kenneth Suitor Jr. and a grandson, Robin Baynham.
